Role: Governance Architects
Governance is the number one factor in the success or failure of economies. Good governance institutions (laws, policies, regulations, organizations, and practices) unleash the potential of people and places for centuries into the future. They determine whether businesses compete with each other through innovation or through lobbying; whether people find good jobs and affordable homes or live on the margins; and whether people grow up with decent, affordable healthcare and education that expands their potential, or live lives predetermined for them at birth.
We are helping navigate a corporate client through one of the greatest opportunities in existence for transforming the world for good – designing a new governance framework in an underprivileged part of the world. The framework aims to align private interests, local community interests, and social interests across an entire society. We have helped structure the basic rights of residents, models for delivering public goods profitably, international legal protections to ensure the area’s continued independence, and a range of legislation covering specific matters from taxation to immigration.
We’re looking forward to telling you more about this fascinating project soon.
